“Below is some useful information and advise. ‘Alden and Broadway tenants and residents association will do all it can to help our local community through this difficult time“. We have included some useful links from the Hackney Council Website and the Housing Contact number and lots more below. The NHS advises you, among other things, to wash your hands regularly, cover your mouth with a tissue when you cough or sneeze and avoid touching your eyes, nose or mouth if your hands are not clean.

You only need to stay away from public places if advised to by the NHS’s specialist 111 online coronavirus service or by a medical professional.

There is currently no evidence that you can catch coronavirus from parcels and letters or from food. Viruses like coronavirus cannot live for very long outside the body.

* Vulnerable Residents needing Additional Support *

Those that are identified as needing additional support are being asked to do the following;

Residents who identify as vulnerable for other reasons and require assistance are to register on the Councils website.
- The Website Hackney has set up is: https://hackney.gov.uk/coronavirus-support.
- Residents can also ring in for advice is on: 0208 356 3111
Among them will be those that have received the ‘shielding letter’ from the government requiring them to self isolate for 12 weeks.
- If they require any help or assistance particularly with food, we get them to register on the following website: https://www.gov.uk/coronavirus-extremely-vulnerable.
- They can also ring: 0800 028 8327. This will ensure that they will get food parcels as promised by the government to help them through this period.

* Self Isolation and Helping Your Neighbours *

If anyone can help elderly and Vulnerable People who may need assistance with buying food, collecting Prescriptions or medication or just someone to talk to then reach out to your neighbours who may need a helping hand, Below is a Slip that can be used Printed and posted through letterboxes, filling in your contact details.

‘Covid-19 Mutual Aid UK’ Is a group of Local London Fields residents who have come together to Support each other in these difficult times, available for a friendly chat or to help with daily errands such as shopping . Facebook : Hackney Covid-19 Mutual Aid

(They are not able to give medical advise or to enter your home or accept donations, they are not affiliated with Alden and Broadway TRA).

Repairs for Council Housing Tenants

Phone the repairs contact centre on 020 8356 3691 Monday to Friday 8am – 7pm and Saturdays 9am – 1pm
email the repairs centre with your name, address, telephone number and details about your repair request (non-urgent repairs)
visit your neighbourhood housing office Monday to Friday 9am – 5pm.
